According to “Tass” News agency, this evening, at the summit of the Eurasian Economic Union, the decision to grant observer status to Iran in the Eurasian Economic Union was approved by the leaders of this union.

Cuba and Uzbekistan are also observer countries in this union. The heads of the “five” of Eurasia include the countries of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Bakitjan Sagintayev, chairman of the board of directors of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), told reporters: “From now on, Iran is an observer country in our alliance.”
