Trump: I will execute monsters
The US president-elect has said he will implement the federal death penalty for “murderers and monsters” once he takes office.
According to Isna, US President-elect Donald Trump announced that as soon as he enters the White House on January 20, he will require the Department of Justice to seriously apply the death penalty to “violent aggressors, murderers and monsters”.
Trump published these statements on his social network called “Truth Social” when the current President of the United States, Joe Biden, reduced the sentences of 37 out of 40 federal prisoners sentenced to death to life imprisonment.
Trump wrote in his message: “As soon as I take the oath of office, I will commit the Department of Justice to aggressively pursue the death penalty to protect American families and children from violent predators, murderers and monsters.”
During his first term in office from 2017 to 2021, Trump resumed the federal death penalty after a nearly 20-year hiatus; But Joe Biden, who entered the election campaign with the slogan of opposing the death penalty, stopped federal executions as soon as he entered the White House.
When the president of the United States grants a pardon to a criminal, the next president cannot revoke the pardon. Therefore, Trump cannot re-approve the death penalty of these 37 people.
However, members of Donald Trump’s team condemned Biden’s decision and called it a despicable act in the interests of criminals who are “among the worst murderers in the world.”
