Alba Union condemned the genocide of Palestinians by Israel
The members of the Alba Union condemned the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza and criticized the support of some countries claiming human rights for these crimes.
According to Isna, the members of the “Bolivarian Coalition for the Nations of Our America” (Alba Union) at the meeting of the leaders and high-ranking officials of this coalition in the city of Caracas, in their final statement, condemned the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza, including crimes against humanity, and the support of some The countries claiming human rights criticized these crimes and demanded an immediate ceasefire and the formation of a free and independent Palestinian state.
The member states of the Alba Union unanimously approved a joint statement condemning the crimes against humanity committed in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories by the Zionist regime. They strongly condemned what was carried out as a “brutal genocide” by the Zionist regime.
Nicolás Maduro, the president of Venezuela, emphasized the consensus reached in this meeting and expressed hope that “one day” the meeting of Alba leaders will be held in Jerusalem freely and peacefully. Maduro also asked Pope Francis to speak in defense of the rights of the Palestinian people.
Other leaders of the Latin American region, such as “Luis Arce” from Bolivia and “Miguel Diaz-Canel” from Cuba, supported the final statement of the Union of Alba by emphasizing unity and social justice. In addition to addressing the Palestinian issue, the meeting emphasized the need to consolidate regional sovereignty in the face of external coercive measures, such as the blockade against Cuba and Venezuela, and the increasing inequality in the Caribbean region.
In the international context, Alba’s coalition reiterated its support for Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations, while strengthening its hemispheric cooperation ties to tackle global challenges such as poverty, climate change, and economic deprivation.
In the final statement of the Alba coalition summit, it was also confirmed that Palestine will actively participate in future Alba meetings and be a model for other regional blocs. The bloc also indicated its intention to promote special assemblies to expand the diplomatic reach of the Palestinian cause at the global level.
