Guterres: The conflicts in Syria are the bitter fruit of the collective failure to reduce tensions
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Thursday that the attack launched last week by terrorists in northern Syria is the result of a collective failure to establish a real ceasefire and start a serious political process in the country.
According to RCO News Agency, Guterres said in a press conference: “We are witnessing the bitter fruit of a collective failure in previous agreements to reduce tensions, which have not been able to bring a real ceasefire throughout the country or a serious political process to implement the resolutions of the Security Council.”
He asked all parties to seriously cooperate with the UN Special Representative for Syria in order to achieve a new, inclusive and comprehensive approach to solving the country’s crisis.
