Moqtada Sadr: We have nothing for the Syrian people except good prayers! – Mehr news agency RCO News Agency

According to the Mehr news agency, quoted by Iraqi media, Shia cleric Moqtadi Sadr and the head of Iraq’s Sadr movement reacted to the developments in Syria by publishing a message in the virtual space.

Moqtada Sadr emphasized in his message: We are carefully monitoring the situation in the dear neighboring country of Syria, and we have nothing but prayers for all classes and clans of its free and proud nation. We pray to God to remove calamity, terrorism, extremism, oppression, darkness, sectarianism and foreign interference from their heads.

Sadr added: We still stand by our position about not interfering in Syrian affairs and not standing in front of the decisions of the Syrian people, because the people of this country are the only source of decision about their fate.

He continued: We hope that everyone will be careful and not get caught in the sinister plans of America, England and Israel and their puppets to destroy religion, destroy unity and spread division.

At the end of his message, Moqtada al-Sadr stated: Non-interference of the government, people and all parties and the Iraqi militia and security forces in the internal affairs of Syria is necessary and the government must prevent this interference and punish the violators of Iraq’s security.
