Macron agreed to Barnier’s resignation
The French president agreed to the resignation of the country’s prime minister.
According to RCO News Agency, on Wednesday evening, the French Parliament voted with 331 votes to remove Barnier and the fall of his minimal government. The current dissolution of the French government is the first collapse of this country’s government since 1962.
The French prime minister, who had angered the opposition parties by arbitrarily approving a budget bill without congressional approval, was remembered as the politician who had the shortest prime ministerial tenure in French history with a vote of no confidence in the parliament.
In this regard, the Elysee Palace announced this evening – Thursday – that “Emmanuel Macron”, the President of France, accepted the resignation of the Prime Minister of this country after the vote of no confidence in him by the Parliament.
The Elysee Palace noted that Barnier will remain in office until a new prime minister is appointed.
The French Prime Minister, who came from the center-right movement, was appointed by the French President to form the government in September. The extreme anger of the left-wing coalition of the French Parliament against Macron’s action has caused the French President and Barnier’s government to depend heavily on the support of the far-right National Community party.
