Peskov: Biden’s goal of escalating tensions in the Ukraine war is to take revenge on Trump
The Kremlin spokesman said that the goal of the current US government to escalate tensions and significantly support Ukraine is to take revenge on Donald Trump for losing the election.
According to Isna, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the decisions of the US President Joe Biden’s government, which is spending its last days, were taken with the aim of taking revenge on US President-elect Donald Trump.
“In many ways, yes,” Peskov said when asked if recent U.S. actions in support of Ukraine were in fact revenge for the defeat in the presidential election.
Saying that the Biden administration is trying to leave a bad legacy for Trump, the Kremlin spokesman said that Biden wants to put Trump in action in the field of resolving the Ukraine conflict.
After the defeat of Kamala Harris, vice-president of Biden and the Democratic candidate for the US presidential election, the Democratic government of this country has allowed Ukraine to attack deep into Russian territory with American long-range weapons, an action that has significantly increased the tensions of the war. On the other hand, the United States is considering sending anti-personnel mines to Ukraine, which are known for their high rate of civilian casualties.
Ukraine’s acquisition of a dirty bomb is beyond playing with fire
Peskov also said that the statements made about the possibility of Kiev acquiring a “dirty bomb” are dangerous and represent a threat “beyond playing with fire”.
“Ukraine knows how dangerous this is, and it’s not even playing with fire anymore, it’s gone beyond that,” Peskov told reporters in response to reports that Kiev may have acquired a dirty bomb.
Earlier this month, the English newspaper “The Times” reported that Ukraine could develop a nuclear bomb within months if the United States cuts arms support. A spokesman for Ukraine’s foreign ministry later said that Ukraine does not have nuclear weapons, does not intend to develop them, and cooperates closely with the International Atomic Energy Agency. However, Russian officials believe that Kiev can build a “dirty bomb” with its current capabilities.
A dirty bomb is a type of explosive weapon in which a non-nuclear explosion is used to scatter radioactive materials and create nuclear contamination. Although a nuclear explosion is not used in a dirty bomb, due to contaminating the environment with radioactive materials, this weapon is also considered as a nuclear weapon in some cases.
