The Arab League emphasized its support for Iraq – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, quoting Waa, the Arab League issued a statement at the end of its meeting regarding the threats of the Zionist regime against Iraq.
In this statement, the Arab League condemned the efforts of the Zionist regime to expand its hostile actions and emphasized its support for Iraq.
This statement includes a request from the Secretary General of the Arab League to send a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council, which will reflect the support position of the Arab League towards Iraq and its strong opposition to the claims mentioned in the letter of the Zionist Foreign Minister against Baghdad.
In the continuation of this statement, it is stated: We emphasize the necessity of taking immediate measures to stop the ongoing tension in the Middle East region in order to maintain international security and peace.
It should be noted that today’s meeting of the Arab League was held at the request of Iraq, during which the permanent representatives of the member states discussed the complaint of the Zionist regime against Baghdad in the Security Council.
A few days ago, Gideon Sa’er, the foreign minister of the Zionist regime, sent a letter to the Security Council and requested to stop drone attacks from Iraqi territory, claiming that Tel Aviv has the right to take all necessary measures to protect itself. It is the responsibility of the Iraqi government not to let the country’s soil be used as a base to carry out attacks against other governments. Israel wants the Iraqi government to fulfill its obligations and take immediate measures to stop and prevent these attacks, while emphasizing the right to self-defense based on the United Nations Charter and taking all necessary measures to protect itself and the Israelis against Iran-backed militias will carry out hostile actions in Iraq.
