The Federal Security Service of Russia announced today (Wednesday) the arrest of a German citizen on suspicion of terrorism, smuggling explosives and blowing up a gas pipeline.
According to Isna, the Federal Security Service of Russia also announced that this German citizen named “Nikolai Gayduk” was involved in the attack that took place in March in the Kaliningrad region of the Baltic Sea and used a homemade bomb.
He was reportedly arrested on a subsequent attempt to enter Kaliningrad from Poland when authorities searched his car and found 0.5 liters of liquid explosives, Reuters reported.
According to the Russian Federal Security Service, Gayduk was born in 1967 and lives in Hamburg. He is also accused of having committed these actions on the orders of a Ukrainian man who lives in a city located in the north of Germany.
