Germany threatened China with more sanctions
The German foreign minister threatened Beijing with more sanctions for helping Russia by making new accusations.
According to RCO News Agency, German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock threatened China with further sanctions during the Brussels meeting attended by the foreign ministers of EU member states.
According to the Rasha Today News channel, in this meeting, the foreign ministers of EU member states talked about the recent information that claims that China is providing military aid to Russia.
A senior EU official had claimed before the meeting that there were reports from intelligence sources indicating the existence of a factory inside China to supply the drones that are being shipped to Russia.
Berbuk also told reporters after the meeting of foreign ministers of the European Union, that the union will take measures if it confirms the existence of this type of cooperation.
Without giving details, he said: “We will impose more sanctions against Iran, and we will also make this clear regarding China’s drone assistance, because this issue must and will have consequences.”
In this regard, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani warned China of committing a “big mistake” and emphasized the importance of sending a message to Beijing to prevent the escalation of tensions.
China, however, rejects these accusations and considers them baseless and insists that it carries out arms exports with full care and responsibility.
The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry also said: “We have never provided lethal weapons to any of the parties to the conflict, and we strictly control the export of military and dual-purpose drones based on laws and regulations.”
He added: “I would like to reiterate that China has a clear and fair position on the Ukraine crisis and has actively promoted peace talks, which is in sharp contrast to certain countries that apply double standards and constantly fuel the fire of the Ukraine crisis. They hit.”
