America, Britain and Australia signed an agreement to jointly test ultrasonic weapons
The United States, Britain and Australia signed an agreement to strengthen testing of ultrasonic systems and accelerate the implementation of related technologies, a Pentagon spokesman said in a statement on Monday.
According to RCO News Agency, the Pentagon spokesman said: “The US Department of Defense, along with the Australian Ministry of Defense and the British Ministry of Defense announced today that they have signed an agreement to strengthen the testing of ultrasonic systems and accelerate the implementation of related technologies.”
He stated that these three countries have signed this agreement to use each other’s facilities and share technical information for the development, testing and evaluation of ultrasound systems.
Existing national efforts will be consolidated through the agreement, which will include up to six trilateral flight test campaigns through 2028 with a total budget of $252 million, the Defense Department said in a statement. These campaigns seek to increase the speed of tests and exploit the resources, testing facilities and extensive experience of the three countries in conducting similar campaigns.
This agreement allows the three countries to benefit from the collective expertise of the partners. The project also supports integrated deterrence, one of the key principles of the trilateral agreement, and meets trilateral requirements for the development and delivery of hypersonic weapon systems.
