Kremlin’s reaction to the possible attack of Kiev with a long-range weapon on Russian territory – Mehr News Agency | RCO News Agency
According to the Mehr News Agency, quoted by Tass, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Kremlin Palace, in response to the New York Times report about the issuance of a permit by Washington to Kiev to use western long-range weapons deep in Russian territory, described this decision as an escalation of tension.
Peskov said in this regard: If such a decision has really been taken and communicated to the Kiev regime, the war will qualitatively enter a new round of tensions and will create new conditions in terms of American participation. We will proceed according to this (new conditions).
He added: Moscow’s position should be clear to everyone. Westerners have received these signs and the President (of Russia) sent these signals in St. Petersburg.
On September 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that the possible decision to use Western long-range weapons against Russia has no other meaning than the direct participation of the United States and other NATO countries in the war in Ukraine. According to him, this decision will drastically change the nature of the war and will force Russia to take appropriate measures in response to the tension-causing threats. He also stated that Ukraine is not able to attack deep into Russian territory without the support of the West, because for this purpose it needs satellite information and reconnaissance flights.
The New York Times has reported, citing knowledgeable sources, that US President Joe Biden has authorized Kiev to use long-range weapons and Atcoms missiles against Russian soil.
