According to the report of Mehr news agency, quoted by CNN, the deputy police of New Orleans announced that there was a shooting at a local traditional festival in this city, and at least 12 people were killed and wounded.
New Orleans Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick said there were two separate shootings 45 minutes apart.
According to him, apparently a car was involved in this first shooting and fired at the crowd. 9 people were injured and taken to the hospital and all of them survived.
The police discovered two weapons at the crime scene and did not provide any other information about the incident.
Kirkpatirek also added that about 45 minutes later, another shooting occurred on the bridge and three more people were shot, and since the vehicle was unable to drive on the bridge, it is obvious that the shooting occurred inside the crowd.
According to him, two people were killed in this shooting and the third person is in a critical condition.
