According to Mehr news agency, CNN news channel announced that Donald Trump, the president-elect of the United States of America, has chosen the governor of South Dakota, Christy Nome, as the secretary of internal security of his administration.
Nome will now take charge of a sprawling agency that oversees all domestic matters, from Customs and Border Protection and Immigration to the Federal Crisis Management Agency and the Secret Service.
CNN has published this news citing two sources. This network had previously reported that Trump has also appointed his anti-immigration advisor, Stephen Miller, as the White House’s deputy policy director.
Trump has also chosen Mike Waltz, a Republican representative and former general of the US Army, as his national security adviser. The winner of the 2024 US presidential election yesterday assigned the post of Washington’s ambassador to the United Nations to Elise Stefanik.
