The efforts of the heads of England and France to justify Trump regarding Ukraine
British media reported that before the inauguration of Donald Trump, the Prime Minister of Great Britain and the President of France plan to convince the current President of the United States to issue a license to use “Storm Shadow” missiles by Ukraine to attack Russian territory.
According to RCO News Agency, British Prime Minister Kerr Starmer wants to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday during his trip to Paris and discuss European security and possibly the second term of US President-elect Donald Trump.
The Telegraph newspaper writes in a report: “The British Prime Minister and the French President plan to block Trump’s efforts to reduce US aid to Ukraine.”
This English newspaper emphasizes that the British Prime Minister hopes that the current US President Joe Biden will finally allow Ukraine to use the long-range missiles “Storm Shadow” in an attack deep into Russian territory.
A source familiar with the British government told this newspaper: “We are keen to use the opportunity we have between now and January 20, coinciding with the inauguration of Donald Trump, rather than waiting until the next government takes office.”
But the Telegraph newspaper believes that Prime Minister Stormer’s plans may be seen by Trump as an “attempt to undermine US foreign policy” and worsen relations between the two politicians.
Ukraine will enter the third year of war in February 2025, and the country’s situation is now more difficult than before. This is while Europe is keeping its eyes on “Donald Trump” and waiting to see how this next president of the United States can end the war in Ukraine.
According to the report of the “Wall Street Journal”, the first idea reported by three officials and advisers close to Trump will be the issue of “Ukraine’s non-membership in NATO for at least the next 20 years.” Instead, the United States will continue to send weapons to Ukraine to “deter Russia from future attacks.”
This American newspaper continued: “Under this plan, the front line is basically locked in place and both sides agree to an 800-mile demilitarized zone.” But it is still not clear who will control that area, and according to one of the advisers, the peacekeeping force will not be stationed there either by the United States or by an organization like the United Nations.
On the other hand, another source in the British government told the Telegraph: “Biden is expected to give more financial aid to Kiev in the final weeks of his presidency in the White House.”
More than 2 and a half years have passed since the war in Ukraine and there is still no prospect of peace in this country. This is while some western countries, especially the United States of America, instead of focusing on diplomatic solutions to resolve this conflict, insist on sending financial and military aid to Kiev, and on the other hand, Russia has repeatedly pointed out that the continuation of such a process will only increase this war. It makes it longer.
The Telegraph writes at the end of this report: “Since Trump won the election last week, Biden has tried to ensure the continuation of Washington’s aid to Kiev. “Also, according to the announcement of the White House, Biden will intensify humanitarian and military assistance to Ukraine through funds previously approved by Congress.”
