Erdogan: Türkiye will not be sidelined in the face of global changes
The President of Türkiye stated that his country will not be passive in the face of major changes in the world system.
According to Isna, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized in a speech that Ankara should not be passive and be on the sidelines in the face of the biggest changes in the world system since the Cold War.
In a speech he gave after the government cabinet meeting in Ankara, referring to the activities of the Turkish Kurdistan Workers’ Party, PKK, Erdogan said: “Turkey is determined to eliminate the deadly, bloody and treacherous plot by the leaders of terrorism.” It is in the Qandil region in northern Iraq.”
Erdogan emphasized that in addition to fighting terrorism, Türkiye is also fighting the instigators of terrorist organizations.
The President of Türkiye promised to establish a safe environment inside and all over the territory of his country.
According to “Anatolia” News agency, PKK militants often launch attacks and operations in Turkey from their hideouts in northern Iraq.
Meanwhile, last week, a political ally of Erdogan demanded that the Turkish constitution be amended to allow the Turkish president to participate in the 2028 elections again.
After being re-elected last year, Recep Tayyip Erdogan is serving his final term in office unless parliament calls early elections as required by the constitution. He has been ruling Turkey for more than 21 years, first as the prime minister and then as the president.
Dolat Baghceli, the leader of the Nationalist Party of Turkey and a political ally of Erdogan, said: “If terrorism is eradicated and inflation is hit hard and Turkey guarantees political and economic stability, isn’t the re-election of our president a natural and correct choice?”
Addressing the lawmakers of his party, he said during a speech in the parliament: “Constitutional amendment should be considered to ensure Erdogan’s ability to run again in the presidential elections.”
