The Times: Trump abandons Ukraine and Europe is scared
The English publication reported the fear of the European Union about the “abandonment of Ukraine” by the president-elect of the United States.
According to Isna, former US President Donald Trump won the presidential election of this country and became the 47th President of the United States.
During his election campaign, he always said that he would end the war in Ukraine “one day”.
Many related his statements to Trump’s desire not to support Ukraine in the country’s conflict against Russia, which fueled the panic of some European countries.
This issue caused the English newspaper Times to write in a report after Trump won the election: “Trump will abandon Ukraine.”
The English publication wrote: “The European Union fears that the United States under the leadership of Trump will abandon Ukraine and pressure it to compromise with Vladimir Putin (President of Russia).”
On the other hand, “Emmanuel Macron”, the French president, said when entering the European meeting in Budapest: “Our interest is that Russia does not win.”
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she would push Trump to take a stand against Putin.
“It’s in all of our interests that the despots of this world get a very clear message that power does not create legitimacy, and it’s in our common interest that we don’t allow big countries to bully others,” he said.
Despite the European Union’s fear of Trump’s possible actions regarding the war in Ukraine, Moscow has so far supported his statements and his claim that he is “not the initiator of wars, but the end of them.”
“Of course, these theses must be accompanied by action, specific actions,” said Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, referring to Trump’s statements recently.
