According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Sputnik, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced the efforts of BRICS members to establish their joint financial payment mechanism.

The Russian Foreign Minister announced that the BRICS countries have drafted preliminary recommendations for alternative payment mechanisms.

According to Lavrov, this mechanism enables the development of safe and reliable payment systems between these countries.

The Russian Foreign Minister said that these actions were on the agenda of the BRICS Summit in Kazan and the meetings of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of the BRICS members, which were held during 2024.

Lavrov noted that recommendations in this regard have been prepared, but they have not yet been finalized.

The senior diplomat of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that BRICS has set itself the task of creating payment platforms. Platforms that, according to Lavrov, are immune to the risks associated with the US dollar.
