In this statement, Burbok made claims about the process of handling the case of Jamshid Sharmehed, who had Iranian-German citizenship, and said: Berlin made many efforts to free him and warned that the execution of a German citizen would have many consequences.
Summoning the Iranian Chargé d’affaires and calling the German ambassador

On the same day, Potsel was summoned by the Director General of Western Europe of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in protest of the interventionist stance of some German officials regarding the jurisdiction of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran in this summons, the Director General of Western Europe, while communicating the strong protest of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the inappropriate positions of some German officials regarding the issue of Sharmehd, who was condemned for organizing and leading terrorist operations, stated: support for Sharmehed, who was responsible for several terrorist acts, including the explosion of the Hosseiniyeh of Rahpooyan of Vasal Shiraz in 2007, which caused the martyrdom and injury of more than 200 innocent Iranian people, in conflict with the claims of the German government in the field of rule of law, protection of human rights, Dealing with impunity and fighting terrorism.
A German passport does not give immunity to a terrorist criminal
In continuation of Iran’s protest against the interventionist position of the German authorities in Iran’s internal affairs and their lack of attention to Sharmehed’s terrorist actions, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, reacted to the hostile statements of the German authorities against Iran following the execution of the leader of the Tander terrorist group. .
Araghchi wrote on the X social network: “Jamshid Sharmehed, an Iranian citizen, openly and shamelessly led the terrorist attack on a mosque (Hosseiniyya), which led to the death of 14 innocent people, including women and children.” More than 200 people were injured during this attack. Sufficient evidence is available and available for everyone to review.
Iran’s foreign minister pointed to Sharmehed’s dual citizenship and wrote: “A German passport does not give immunity to anyone, let alone a terrorist criminal.”
Araghchi also wrote to Berbuk: “Your government is complicit in Israel’s ongoing genocide. Germany is the second supplier of deadly weapons to Israel for the genocide in Gaza and the killing in Lebanon. Look around, even your own people scoff at your arrogant claims of human rights.”
Closure of Iranian consulates in Germany
According to RCO News Agency, in the continuation of increasing tension in the relations between Iran and Germany, on Thursday, November 10, the German Foreign Minister announced in a media statement that in protest against the execution of Jamshid Sharmehed, Berlin decided that the Iranian consulates in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich be closed
Berbuk claimed: “We have repeatedly and clearly announced to Tehran that the execution of a German citizen will have serious consequences. “Diplomatic relations with Iran have reached their lowest point.”
The German Foreign Ministry also announced that it does not seek to close the Iranian embassy in Berlin.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany has announced that the closure of the three Iranian consulates in Germany will be completed within “several weeks” and a “short deadline” is needed for the evacuation of these three buildings by Iran.
This tense and unwarranted action of Germany met Tehran’s reaction, and on the same day, Iran’s Foreign Ministry summoned the German Chargé d’Affaires in Tehran, Hans-Peter Ugel, in protest against the German Foreign Minister’s decision to deny Iranian citizens residing in Germany consular services.
In this summons, the head of the First Department of Western Europe, while condemning the destructive and unjustified approach of the German government towards the people of Iran, announced that “the decision of the German government to stop the activities of the consulates of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this country is an unjustified and unjustified action. The main function of Iranian consulates in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich is to provide essential consular services to Iranians living in Germany and support their interests with the host country, and the German government’s decision to close these centers is a deliberate deprivation of Iranians from benefiting from consular facilities and services. This decision of the German Foreign Minister causes unnecessary trouble for Iranian compatriots living in Germany and violates their basic rights. This action is also like cutting off one of the most important and long-standing channels of communication between the two nations of Iran and Germany.”
The ban on Iranians in Germany
On Friday, in an article on X social network, Araghchi wrote in protest against this decision of the German government: “The suspension of Iranian consulates in Germany is a sanction against Iranians living in that country, most of whom also have German citizenship. In support of the terrorist who killed 14 innocent people and injured more than 200 others, the German government sanctions tens of thousands of Iranians who have German passports. Anyone can see the wisdom in this decision.
Araghchi emphasized: “I assure our Iranian compatriots in Germany that by strengthening the consular sections of our embassy in Berlin and other nearby diplomatic missions, we will do our best to compensate them for this uncomfortable situation.”
Seyed Abbas Mousavi, the former spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, also referred to the German government’s decision to close the Iranian consulates in Munich, Frankfurt and Hamburg and wrote: “These days, the German government is gassing in support of the war crimes of the Israeli regime and Terrorist Sharmehd and the gradual destruction of his deep-rooted and historical relations with Iran is not surprising at all!
Mousavi added: “The historical debt of Germany to the Zionist terrorists aside, but the question is why this stateless terrorist or other terrorists with international birth certificates in recent years, in addition to the office and handbook, simultaneously hold the residence or citizenship of several European countries, especially Germany. Do they have their own?!”
The consequences of the unjustified decision of the German government
According to RCO News Agency, Germany is one of the European countries where a significant population of Iranians, especially students, live there, and according to some statistics, with this decision of the German federal government, about 320,000 Iranians in different cities of this country will be denied consular services. In order to do the smallest consular work, they have to go to Berlin or Iranian consulates in neighboring countries from their city of residence, spending considerable time and money.
On the other hand, in recent years, a number of Afghan citizens who have lived and resided in Iran for many years and now immigrated to this European country have been turning to Iranian embassies to provide consular services, and they are now affected by the decision along with Iranian citizens. The German government is unjustified in supporting a terrorist.
