Canada: Ukraine should be allowed to attack deep into Russian territory
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada asked the western countries to allow Ukraine to attack the depth of Russian territory with the western long-range weapons provided to this country.
According to Isna, Canada’s Foreign Minister Melanie Jolly said today (Friday) that the country believes that Western countries should allow Ukraine to use the weapons they send to attack deep within Russian territory.
“Canada’s position is that we should allow the Ukrainians to use long-range weapons against military targets in Russia,” Jolly said. “Canada will insist on this issue in discussions with its allies and provide reasons to support its position.”
In mid-October, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced Kiev’s plan to end the war, dubbed the “Victory Plan.” One of Ukraine’s requests in this plan is that Western countries allow Kiev to attack targets deep in Russian territory using long-range weapons received from the West.
According to the Sputnik News agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that NATO countries are not only discussing the possibility of allowing Kiev to use Western long-range weapons against Russia, but are essentially deciding whether to directly intervene in the conflict in Ukraine. Putin warned that the direct involvement of Western countries in the conflict would change its nature and Moscow would be forced to make decisions based on threats against Russia.
