Biden’s condition for Ukraine’s attack on North Korean troops in Russia – Mehr News Agency | RCO News Agency
According to RCO News Agency, citing Rashatoudi, US President Joe Biden, in response to the claim of sending troops from North Korea to Russia for the purpose of war against Ukraine, said that Kiev forces should attack North Korean soldiers if they enter Ukraine.
This week, the Pentagon claimed that about 10,000 troops were sent from North Korea to Russia, and some of them were transferred to this area for possible operations against Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region of Russia, parts of which are under the control of Ukrainian forces.
Asked if Ukraine should counterattack against North Korean forces, Biden said: “If they enter Ukrainian territory, yes.”
Earlier this month, Moscow and Pyongyang signed a bilateral strategic partnership agreement, according to which the parties are obliged to provide military assistance to each other in the event of an attack by a third country. Russian President Vladimir Putin refused to confirm or deny reports about the presence of North Korean forces in Russia, but emphasized that “what the two countries do to fulfill their requirements and obligations under the new agreement is only between North Korea and Russia.”
The Biden administration has pledged to help Kiev “as long as it is necessary for their victory.” Moscow has called this war a US-led proxy war against Russia, in which the Ukrainians play the role of “balloon fodder”.
