London called for an immediate ceasefire in the region
Britain has delivered more than 12,500 food ration packages and 79 battlefield medical kits to the Lebanese Armed Forces.
According to Isna, this package of medical equipment and supplies provided by the British Royal Force is financed by the British Integrated Security Fund and helps support the Lebanese Armed Forces.
According to the News site of the British Embassy in Beirut, the British Embassy in Beirut announced in a statement that the Lebanese Armed Forces are essential for the future security and stability of Lebanon and the wider region as the only legitimate military force of Lebanon.
The statement also states: “For more than a decade, the UK has provided serious support to the Lebanese Armed Forces as a reliable partner through training, guidance and the provision of equipment. Since 2009, London has trained more than 34,000 Lebanese military personnel and allocated more than £106 million in funding. “London has also helped build nearly 80 border observation posts and operational bases as part of efforts to support Lebanon’s border security.”
The statement also said: “The Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary and Defense Secretary of the UK continue to call for an immediate ceasefire and an increase in humanitarian aid in Lebanon and Gaza in order to create space for a political solution. The UK Foreign Office advises all its nationals to leave Lebanon immediately and has arranged several, including charter flights from Lebanon, in recent weeks to support this.
The British Embassy in Beirut also continued: “London is fully committed to peace in the Middle East.” England is also the first country in the Group of 7 to continue to ask for a reduction in tension in the region. “The ceasefire will pave the way for civilians on both sides of the border to return to their homes.”
