Erdogan: I want to meet with Putin during his trip to Türkiye
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that Ankara expects Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Turkey in the near future.
According to Isna, Erdogan said in a meeting with Putin on the sidelines of the BRICS meeting in Russia: “I want to tell you that I wish to meet you during your visit to Russia in the near future.”
The Russian city of Kazan will host world leaders for the 16th BRICS summit from Tuesday to Thursday. Since the expansion of this alliance and the joining of Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to BRICS, this was the first meeting of this group.
The BRICS alliance, which has challenged the Western-led world order, initially included Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, but is expanding rapidly. Türkiye, the Republic of Azerbaijan and Malaysia have officially applied for membership, and a number of other countries have also expressed their desire to join this group.
