Kremlin: The goal of BRICS is not to weaken the dollar
Referring to the claim of the American media that the BRICS group is trying to weaken the dollar, the Kremlin spokesman said that the only goal of this group is to ensure the interests of its members.
According to RCO News Agency, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that cooperation within the framework of the BRICS group was not done with the aim of weakening the dollar or other world currencies, and its only purpose is to ensure the interests of the countries that participate in this format.
“Cooperation within BRICS is not against any person or institution,” he said. It is not against the dollar and other currencies. The only goal is to ensure the security of the countries that are present in this format.”
The Kremlin spokesman made these statements after the American newspaper “The Economist” recently claimed in a report that the BRICS member countries are trying to weaken the dollar at their meeting.
BRICS is the name of a group of countries led by emerging economic powers, which was formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, and was later joined by Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates.
