Lavrov: Yerevan and Baku were suggested to use 3+3 to achieve peace
The Russian Foreign Minister said that at the meeting of the 3+3 platform, Baku and Yerevan were suggested to use the capacities of this platform to resolve their conflict and achieve peace.
According to RCO News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said today (Friday) that the participants in the South Caucasus 3+3 regional cooperation platform have offered Armenia and Azerbaijan to use this platform to complete the peace agreement.
The Russian Foreign Minister stated that Iran, Russia and Turkey have proposed to their counterparts in Yerevan and Baku to use the 3+3 platform to complete the work on the peace treaty, to the capacities and groundwork created through the tripartite framework of Russia, Armenia and the Republic of Armenia. Azerbaijan was created, he pointed out.
He also continued his statements after the 3+3 format meeting and said that Russia maintains its relationship with Georgia as much as necessary and that there is a possibility of discussing issues in the fields of trade and tourism.
“We have contacts with Tbilisi,” Lavrov said. The Swiss embassy also protects our interests there. Our diplomats work there and, if necessary, will have the opportunity to directly discuss with the Georgian authorities about current issues, which are mainly related to trade, tourism and public relations.
