The German frigate shot down a drone off the coast of Lebanon – Mehr news agency RCO News Agency

According to the Mehr news agency, the German news agency reported on Thursday that the German frigate “Ludwigshafen am Rhein” stationed on the coast of Lebanon intercepted a drone.

According to Deutsche Welle, the spokesman of the German Army Operations Command announced that this unmanned drone was shot down in a controlled manner near the coast of Lebanon using a defense system.

Berlin claims that it has a military presence on the coast of Lebanon as part of the UN UNIFIL forces.

Since 2006, UNIFIL forces have been in charge of monitoring the ceasefire in the border area between Lebanon and the occupied territories.
