Head of the Russian Duma: The period of Washington and Brussels is over and the future belongs to BRICS
The speaker of the Russian Duma, saying that the era of Washington and Brussels is coming to an end, said that the future belongs to the BRICS group.
According to RCO News Agency, “Vyacheslav Volodin”, the speaker of the Russian Duma, wrote on his Telegram messenger on Monday: “countries choose the path of dialogue, equality and mutually beneficial cooperation that is in the interest of the people of their country, and they no longer think about the satisfaction of the United States and its agents.” “
According to the News agency “Novosti”, the speaker of the Russian Duma continued his message and stated: “The era of Washington and Brussels is coming to an end, and the future belongs to the BRICS group, which has become the largest economic center.”
Noting that Serbia is considering BRICS membership, Volodin emphasized: “More countries see this bloc as a perspective and a guarantee in relation to the multipolar world.”
In an interview with a German newspaper, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Volin said on Sunday that Serbia considers BRICS membership to be a real alternative to joining the European Union, while stressing that Serbia “will be present in Kazan (at the BRICS meeting).” .
The BRICS group has expanded twice since its creation in 2006. In 2011, South Africa joined the four founding countries – Brazil, Russia, India and China – then in 2024, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates became BRICS members.
This year, Russia holds the rotating presidency of BRICS and the summit of this group will be held in Kazan on October 22-24 (November 1-3).
According to Yury Ushakov, assistant to the Russian president, Moscow invited 36 foreign leaders to participate in the Kazan meeting, and 18 of them announced their participation.
At the end of his message, the speaker of the Russian Duma added: “The economy of the BRICS countries is growing significantly today, but the economy of the European Union is declining. For example, in Germany, Austria, Finland and Estonia, GDP is declining and industry has suffered significant losses.
