Arif travels to Islamabad
By announcing that Islamabad will host the upcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan pointed out the issues that are on the agenda of this meeting.
According to RCO News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan announced in a statement that Islamabad will host the 20th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Islamabad from October 15 to 16, 2024 (24 to 25 Mehr).
In this statement, which was published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, it is stated: “Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif”, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, as the current head of the Council of Heads of State of this organization, will preside over this meeting.
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, the Prime Ministers of China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as “Mohammad Reza Aref”, the First Vice President of Iran and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India, the Prime Minister of Mongolia (observer country) and the Deputy Cabinet and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Turkmenistan (special guest) will participate in this meeting on behalf of member countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan also mentioned that the Prime Ministers of the countries will have important bilateral meetings with the heads of participating delegations on the sidelines of this meeting.
In this statement, referring to details about the agenda of this meeting, it is stated: The meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States will discuss existing cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, environment, socio-cultural communication and will review the performance of this organization. The heads will take important organizational decisions to further strengthen cooperation among the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and approve the organization’s budget.
