Serbia: We will not join sanctions against Russia
The Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia emphasized that despite the pressure from the West, his country has no desire to impose sanctions against Russia.
According to RCO News Agency, “Alexander Volin”, the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, emphasized that Belgrade will never join the sanctions against Russia.
He stated: Applying such sanctions will not only affect Russia but also Serbia. Considering our history and centuries of friendship with Russia, we will never do this.
Volin noted that the West intends to pressure Serbia to impose sanctions against Moscow in order to hit the “moral and spiritual” dimensions of Serbia-Russia relations.
This Serbian official added: Belgrade’s joining the sanctions will not harm the Russian economy, but it will cause a significant psychological and moral blow to completely isolate Russia.
He went on to remind that Serbia is currently the only European country that does not support anti-Russian actions and said: Belgrade is eager to deepen cooperation with Moscow not only in the field of security, but also in cultural, economic, sports and other fields. forgive
Volin previously announced that there is still a threat from the politically influential circles of the West against Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
Serbia’s deputy prime minister had previously expressed his reluctance on September 15 for Belgrade to join the European Union if it meant getting into a war with Russia. He stated: While Serbia is on the path of integration with the European Union, the speed of this process is not determined by the country itself.
On September 13, he once again emphasized that Serbia will not impose sanctions against Russia despite the pressure from the West. Volin emphasized that the Serbian people feel continuous support from Russia.
