Moscow: America and its allies have increased the risk of nuclear war
The spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the risk of nuclear conflict in the world has increased and said that the actions of the United States and its followers will have disastrous consequences.
According to RCO News Agency, Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said today (Wednesday) that the risk of a nuclear conflict has increased significantly, and Russia is warning the United States and its allies that this conflict will have catastrophic consequences.
In a press conference, Zakharova said that the world is currently witnessing a sharp increase in the nuclear threat, and that this is caused by the destructive policies of the West, actions that will lead to direct military confrontation between the nuclear powers.
“We clearly warn the United States and NATO countries that are following suit,” he said.
The spokesman said that NATO members should come to their senses and realize that their “provocative and dangerous” approach could have “catastrophic consequences” instead of “recklessly following” the US and the path it has taken.
Russian President Vladimir Putin recently said Moscow reserves the right to use nuclear weapons in the face of aggression, including if Russia’s enemies using conventional weapons pose a critical threat to its sovereignty.
The Russian president also said that in the event of an attack on Belarus, which is Russia’s ally, Moscow still reserves the right to use nuclear weapons.
