The European Union agreed to provide a loan of 38 billion dollars to Ukraine
The Council of the European Union announced that it has agreed to provide Ukraine with a loan of 35 billion euros ($38 billion) from frozen Russian assets.
According to Isna, the Council of the European Union announced in a statement on Wednesday: “Today, the Council reached an agreement on providing a financial aid package to Ukraine, including a loan of 35 billion euros.”
The Council also announced that it has agreed on a mechanism to help Ukraine repay loans taken from the Council of the European Union and the Group of Seven worth up to $45 billion.
The Council of the European Union emphasized that the loans taken by Kiev will be paid from the profits of the frozen Russian properties.
