Pashinyan: We are ready to sign a peace agreement with Baku this month
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Tuesday that the country is ready to sign a peace agreement with the Republic of Azerbaijan this month.
According to RCO News Agency, Pashinyan said: “An agreement has been reached on all the issues in the draft agreement regarding the establishment of friendly relations between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.” We are ready to sign this document this month. This is our official position.
He further stated that Armenia and Azerbaijan have announced in recent months that an agreement has been reached on 80% of the issues in this document.
The Prime Minister of Armenia continued: “Based on this logic, we suggest the Republic of Azerbaijan to sign everything that has been agreed upon and then continue working on the rest of the issues.” However, it is impossible to reach a peace agreement that answers all questions and organizes all aspects of bilateral relations.
Pashinyan emphasized: “Whatever the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, there will still be important issues that need to be resolved, agreed upon, and finally new agreements signed based on them.”
