Supporters of Palestine march across Europe
At the same time as the anniversary of the beginning of the Zionist regime’s crimes in Gaza is approaching, citizens from all over Europe and some Asian countries started massive demonstrations in support of the Palestinians.
According to RCO News Agency, however, this demonstration has been met with widespread repression by the police. In Rome, the capital of Italy, the anti-riot police fired tear gas and water cannons to suppress the demonstrators who came to the streets to protest the crimes of the Zionist regime and its failure to stop it during the last year.
According to the report of the “Associated Press” News agency, similar images have been reported in the capitals of other European countries. According to this American news agency, the demonstrations of citizens around the world are expected to intensify tomorrow – Monday – one day before October 7th.
Italy had opposed holding a demonstration in support of Palestine, but the government’s opposition did not stop the protesters from holding a demonstration of several thousand people.
Italian citizens in their demonstrations while holding the Palestinian flag shouted the slogan “Freedom of Palestine, freedom of Lebanon”.
In London, English citizens came to the streets in support of Palestine and in protest against the crimes of the Zionist regime and the British government’s support for this regime. According to some organizers of the demonstrations, some of them plan to target companies and institutions that are complicit in the crimes of the Zionist regime.
According to the Associated Press, the atmosphere was tense as pro-Zionist protesters and pro-Palestinian demonstrators, some holding Israeli flags, passed each other. Nevertheless, the London Metropolitan Police announced that 15 people were arrested on suspicion of “disturbing public order”.
A German news agency also reported, citing the police count, that in the city of Hamburg, Germany, around 950 people holding Palestinian and Lebanese flags and shouting the slogan “Stop the Genocide” held a peaceful demonstration.
In Paris, thousands of protesters gathered in protest of their solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese people. Many carried Palestinian flags and posters reading “Stop the killing,” “Free Palestine,” and “Stop the aggression in Lebanon.”
Pro-Palestinian demonstrators also planned to join demonstrations in Washington, New York’s Times Square and several other cities in the United States, as well as in other parts of the world, including Denmark, Switzerland, South Africa and India. In the Philippines, dozens of freedom activists protested near the US embassy in Manila.
Pro-Palestinian protests calling for an immediate ceasefire have been held repeatedly across Europe and around the world in the past year, often turning violent due to the violent crackdown by security forces.
A year full of crime
Since the start of the Gaza war on October 7th of last year, more than 40,000 Palestinians have been martyred by the Zionist regime, and despite the extensive crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza, this regime has now gone to Lebanon.
The airstrikes of the occupying regime against Lebanon in recent weeks have resulted in the martyrdom of 2,000 Lebanese, and last week, the Zionist army announced the beginning of its ground attacks on Lebanon.
