Ryabkov: Nuclear facilities should not be involved in conflicts
A senior Russian diplomat, in response to the Zionist media’s claim that the occupation regime might attack the nuclear facilities, said that even considering this possibility is unacceptable.
According to Isna, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in an interview with the Russian Sputnik channel: “Russia is concerned about the statements of some Israeli sources about the possibility of attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities.”
He added: “It is unacceptable and dangerous to even consider an attack on nuclear facilities among the possible options. The risk of direct conflict between nuclear powers cannot be underestimated. »
Ryabkov stated: “We have serious reasons for concern. Any escalation of tension in the region will have dangerous consequences for the entire Middle East. “Nuclear facilities should be removed from the conflict list. We have said this for a long time in connection with the Zaporizhia and Kursk power plants.”
He added: “The international community, including the International Atomic Energy Agency, should raise their voice and express their strong criticism and opposition to the unacceptability of even the possibility of such a thing.”
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia emphasized: We are worried about the words of Israeli officials about targeting Iran. We are against attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities. There can be no doubts about the fact that Iran is free of nuclear weapons.
Russia and the United States did not discuss the Middle East crisis through diplomatic channels, Ryabkov said. We have a completely different approach.
Previously, Zionist sources have claimed the possibility of attacking our country’s nuclear facilities following the strategic defeat of this regime against the IRGC’s Honest Promise 2 operation, which was carried out in line with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and the right to legitimate defense.
On the other hand, yesterday US President Joe Biden claimed that Washington is against any attack by the Zionist regime on Iran’s nuclear sites in response to Iran’s recent attacks on this regime.
On Wednesday, in response to a reporter’s question about his support for the Zionist regime’s retaliatory attack on Iran’s nuclear sites, Biden said: “The answer is no.”
On the other hand, Mohammad Eslami, head of our country’s Atomic Energy Organization, in response to the Zionist regime’s threats against our country’s nuclear facilities, recalled that our armed forces have also created the necessary deterrence and added: “Israel has always made such claims. The Zionist regime is a barbaric regime and Netanyahu acts like a vampire, and the whole world is protesting against this regime. Our armed forces have also created the necessary deterrence.”
Iran has announced that any new adventure by the Zionist regime will face a stronger response from the country’s armed forces.
