According to the Mehr news agency, quoted by Reuters, “Yoshimasa Hayashi”, the chief secretary of the Japan Cabinet, announced that the Japanese government headed by “Fumio Kishida” announced his resignation before the formation of a new cabinet headed by “Shigro Ishiba”.
Japan’s parliament will hold an extraordinary session in the coming days to officially elect Ishiba as prime minister.
On September 27, Ishiba took the helm of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, which, along with its coalition partner Komito, holds a majority in both houses of the legislature.
According to the Japanese constitution, after the election of the president in the parliament and the formation of the new cabinet, with the approval of the Emperor Naruhito, the new government will officially begin its work.
