According to RCO News Agency, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly to review bilateral relations and ways to strengthen joint cooperation in various fields, as well as the latest developments in the region, including The recent tensions in Lebanon.
According to the report of Baghdad Al-Youm, during this meeting, the two sides emphasized the need for efforts to extinguish the flames of war, stop the continuous aggression in Gaza and Lebanon, and what causes the expansion of the scope of conflicts in the region and the creation of regional and international insecurity.
Al-Sudani also emphasized that the world and the region are going through difficult times and Iraq has repeatedly warned of the consequences of an all-out war, which may occur at any time due to the lack of a solution from the international community and relevant institutions.
In this meeting, it was emphasized the need to assume the duties and responsibilities of the United Nations regarding the events in Gaza and Lebanon and committing hostile and aggressive crimes against civilians, especially women and children.
