Macron called for a re-examination of EU-Russia relations
The French president said that the European Union should review its relations with Russia in the future for the sake of peace and stability in the European continent.
According to RCO News Agency, French President Emmanuel Macron said during a conference in Paris titled “Sitdown for Peace”: “We need to think in a new way about peace in Europe. It is necessary to consider the reality of European geography, which is not limited to the European Union or NATO.
“We need a new approach in the European organization and we need to rethink our relations with Russia in the future and also peace in this continent,” French media BFMTV reported, quoting the country’s president.
Macron continued: “I believe that the creation of a new world order is necessary because the current order is incomplete and unjust, as it was designed after the Second World War and does not take into account the new challenges.”
“We must be creative enough to think about tomorrow’s peace,” the French president emphasized. Peace in Europe must be established in a new way. Peace is only possible with coexistence. “After the war in Ukraine, we have to think about a new form of organization and peace for Europe and reconsider our relations with Russia.”
