Stoltenberg’s support for NATO’s warmongering in Ukraine
The Secretary General of the NATO alliance, by continuing to be belligerent, demanded the continuation of the West’s support for Ukraine in the war with Russia.
According to Isna, Jens Stoltenberg, the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), in a speech while supporting the continuation of fueling the war in Ukraine, claimed that the West should “force Russia to come to at the negotiating table” to continue supporting Kiev in the war and by “achieving peace”.
Stoltenberg, whose provocative policies of the coalition under his command, including expansionism and his disregard for Russia’s security interests, caused the start of the Ukraine war, showed that NATO has no intention of retreating from these policies and is willing to continue the war. “The paradox is that the more weapons we can deliver to Ukraine, the more likely we are to achieve peace and end the war,” he claimed. “The more substantial our long-term military support, the sooner this war will end!”
In another part of the speech he addressed to the gathering of the “German Marshall Fund” organization, Stoltenberg said that Western allies on both sides of the Atlantic (America and Europe) need each other due to facing “increasing challenges”.
He expressed concern about the possibility of the victory of “Donald Trump”, the presidential candidate of the American Republican Party in the November 2024 presidential election, and other nationalist politicians who oppose NATO in Western countries, and referring to the controversial positions that these politicians have taken in support of “We have heard voices on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean who want to separate America from Europe,” he said. “Focusing on short-sighted national interests instead of longer-term cooperation will not serve us.”
“Isolationism will not keep anyone safe,” Stoltenberg said during his speech at the aforementioned gathering in Berlin. We live in an interconnected world. “The security challenges are so big and the competition is so intense that no country can handle them alone.”
By saying that only the NATO alliance can guarantee security and peace in Europe, he revealed that 80% of the military budget of the alliance is financed by NATO allies who are outside the European Union.
NATO Secretary General said: “The matter is also related to geography. Without Türkiye in the south, Norway in the north, America, Canada and Britain in the west, it is impossible to consider the security of the European continent.
Stoltenberg stated that the NATO alliance serves the interests of the United States of America as much as it serves Europe.
He continued: “No other great power has as many allies and friends as the United States.” Any of its policies to weaken this coalition will waste one of America’s greatest assets.”
