Moscow: The West does not cooperate in the case of the Nord Stream explosion
The spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Western countries have refused to cooperate with Russia’s request in the case of the explosion of the Nord Stream gas transmission pipelines and have not reached a specific result in their investigations.
According to RCO News Agency, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that Western countries still refuse to cooperate with Russia in the investigation of the explosion of the Nord Stream gas transmission pipeline.
Stating that all of Russia’s requests in this regard have been met with opposition, he said: “Western countries continue to stubbornly refuse to cooperate with the Russian side, deceive the international community and their own citizens, and do not provide any clear answers.”
Zakharova said, Russia plans to complete the investigation about the explosion in these gas transmission lines and make its results available to the public. He added: “One of the next steps in this direction is the meeting of the Security Council on September 26, which will be held regarding the destruction of Russian gas pipelines.”
In September 2022, three of the four gas transmission pipelines “Nord Stream” 1 and 2 were targeted by sabotage explosions. The Nord Stream project was designed with the aim of transferring gas from Russia to Germany and then to Europe, and the explosion in these gas transmission lines caused a great geopolitical shock to the world. The main cause of this sabotage has not yet been determined, but fingers are pointed at Russia, Ukraine, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Russia and Ukraine have denied involvement in this operation, and Denmark and Sweden’s investigations have also been suspended without mentioning the names of the suspects; However, in the investigation of the German prosecutor’s office about these explosions, several Ukrainian citizens have been mentioned and an arrest warrant has been issued for one of them.
