In the elections of Venezuela, Maduro was re-elected as the president of the country with the majority of votes, but the opposition and the western countries and many neighboring countries of Venezuela have challenged the results of these elections and demanded a review of the votes; The charges that Caracas denies, and now that the country’s opposition leader has acknowledged Maduro’s legal victory, all charges will be dismissed.
Following Maduro’s victory, the European Union and Western countries, especially the United States, tried to question the will of the Venezuelan people by making false and baseless accusations and, as in the past, tried to recognize the main face of the opposition.
The United States considered Edmundo González, the losing candidate and the person who recognized Maduro’s victory, as the winning candidate.
In recent weeks, the United States has imposed sanctions on Venezuelan officials aligned with Maduro for allegedly disrupting the election. The United States also announced that a Venezuelan plane used by Maduro for international travel had been seized in the Dominican Republic. A second plane linked to Maduro is under 24-hour surveillance by Dominican Republic officials, a source told CNN.
