American exercise in remote parts of Alaska
The US military unannounced deployed troops and weapons in remote areas of Alaska with the aim of showing power against Russia and China.
According to RCO News Agency, this military event takes place while China and Russia are holding joint naval exercises in the Pacific Ocean.
General Joseph Hilbert, commander of the US Army’s 11th Airborne Division, said in an interview with Business Insider: “This event demonstrates the ability of the US military in the Pacific to move its assets, even to the most remote locations.”
Hilbert said: “The military considers us experts in the Arctic, and as part of the US military in the Pacific, we must be ready to conduct ground operations in this region.”
According to Business Insider, the 11th Airborne Division has deployed an array of capabilities from across the U.S. military along with 130 soldiers in remote Alaska.
The Alaskan Air National Guard and the US Air Force transported these weapons and various assets there.
This event, which will continue for days to come, is of great importance to both friends and enemies of the United States. There is a lot of debate about the need to keep the number of troops and weapons in the exercises secret, but that was not done here, as this exercise is being deliberately held in the open.
According to Hilbert, the goal was to show that these capabilities can be easily deployed, even in unexpected and remote locations.
He further emphasized: This is also a sign of the readiness of the United States for our allies and partners.
