Former French Prime Minister: The situation in Gaza is the biggest historical scandal
The former French Prime Minister described the situation in Gaza as “the biggest historical scandal” and criticized France’s position in the conflict.
According to RCO News Agency, former French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin told France Inter: “We no longer have a voice on the international stage. “The situation in Gaza is very serious.”
According to Anatolia News agency, he added: “The situation in Ukraine is getting worse and worse. Gaza is undoubtedly the biggest historical scandal. This is a real scandal in terms of democracy. What is all this in the name of? It is called war. It is the civilian population that dies. “We are in the void and France is distancing itself from this situation.”
These statements were made by the former French Prime Minister while more than 41,000 Palestinians were killed in the attacks of the Zionist regime. This conflict has caused widespread destruction of infrastructure, homelessness and displacement, lack of food and the spread of infectious diseases in the Gaza Strip.
De Villepin, who was the Prime Minister of France from 2005 to 2007, condemned the killing of civilians and said that people in Gaza are losing their lives every day due to the attacks of the Zionist regime.
He also severely criticized the Zionist regime for creating conditions aimed at reoccupying the Gaza Strip from which it was withdrawn in 2005, and added: “Israel has taken possession of Gaza again. Gaza is completely besieged. As we see in the north and south of the West Bank, the region is disintegrating. “We are facing a real time bomb.”
In response to the question of what France and Europe can do to help resolve the conflict, he said that they have weapons and economic levers and continued: “However, possible solutions such as trade restrictions are not implemented for several reasons because Israel has no purpose.” It is not political, and when you don’t have political goals, the only thing you know is to fight.”
