Peskov: The use of long-range weapons against Russia has already begun
A Kremlin spokesman said on Thursday that giving Kiev permission to strike deep into Russian territory with long-range weapons would increase the West’s involvement in the war.
According to Isna, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with “Izvestia” newspaper, referring to the Western media report that Ukraine was apparently given permission to use long-range weapons: “This action shows the degree of participation of Western countries in the war. It increases Ukraine significantly.”
He added: “It is clear that this decision was made in advance and they are currently hiding it. In this case, Russia will react according to the decision made by the West.”
“Britain has already given Ukraine the green light to use Hurricane Shadow missiles, but it is expected that it will not announce this decision publicly,” the Guardian newspaper wrote in a report citing anonymous sources.
In this regard, the American publication Politico, citing a Western official and 2 other informed sources, wrote: “The White House is finalizing a plan to reduce some restrictions on how Ukraine can use the weapons donated by the United States and better protect itself against missiles.” It is Russia.”
In another part of his statement, Peskov said: “Kiev will probably try to target civilian installations in its attacks on Russian soil, as it has done so far.”
“It is clear that Ukraine still intends to continue its terrorist attacks and target civilian facilities,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
