America again promised that Ukraine will become a member of NATO
While promising Ukraine’s membership in the NATO alliance, the US Secretary of State said that Washington wants Kiev to win the war.
According to Isna, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who traveled to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, along with his British counterpart David Lemmy, to announce the US government’s support for this war-torn European country, said: “At the July NATO meeting, we , we stated that Ukraine’s path to NATO membership is irreversible. “This bloc is committed to supporting Ukraine’s membership.”
Rasha Today reported that the US Secretary of State had previously made similar promises and statements, but during the NATO summit both this year and last summer in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, it was emphasized that Ukraine’s membership in NATO will be implemented when the allies agree to its terms.
Hungary and Slovakia have previously said that they will not reach an agreement under any circumstances because Ukraine’s entry into NATO would be a “war with Russia”.
Hungary, unlike many EU member states, has rejected sending any lethal weapons to Ukraine and is focused on a peaceful solution to the conflict. This country has also repeatedly criticized the European Union’s sanctions against Russia, and its prime minister has described the said sanctions and restrictions as a “failure” that only worsens the energy crisis.
Continuing his remarks in Kyiv, Blinken said, referring to the expansion of Ukraine’s military industry: “In the coming years, this will help Ukraine to have one of the most advanced defense industries in the world, then take the share of the world market from other countries such as Russia and It also supplies NATO allies.”
In another part of his speech, he added: “The most important thing is that we want to see Ukraine win the war.”
The US foreign minister also added: “We talked about long-range attacks. We also talked about other issues. “I’m going to go back to Washington and brief the president on what I heard.”
So far, the US government has prohibited Ukraine from using Atcoms missiles to attack Russian territory. These missiles have a range of about 200 miles (about 320 km), and for this reason, Britain has not allowed Ukraine to use the “Shadow of the Storm” cruise missiles to attack targets deep in Russian territory.
