Britain is speeding up the transfer of weapons to Ukraine
In a statement, the British Defense Minister announced the acceleration of the process of sending military cargo from this country to Ukraine.
According to Isna, British Defense Minister John Haley announced in a statement that the country is accelerating the transfer of weapons to Ukraine.
According to the report of the Russian News agency “Tass” quoting the website of the British Ministry of Defense, Haley announced in his statement tonight: “As part of the British government’s commitment to increase and speed up the provision of military support to Ukraine, including air defense missiles, equipment for F-16 fighter jets, AS90 self-propelled guns and spare barrels, military boats and naval guns have now been delivered to Ukraine. “Hundreds of additional air defense missiles, tens of thousands of additional artillery shells and other armored vehicles will also be delivered to Ukraine by the end of the year.”
On April 23, the British Prime Minister’s Office announced that the country would provide Kiev with an aid package worth £500 million, which includes Storm Shadow cruise missiles and Husky infantry fighting vehicles. In July, the new British government announced that it would provide Ukraine with 90 Brimstone precision-guided missiles and a quarter of a million rounds of ammunition.
The British Ministry of Defense announced in early September that it will provide Ukraine with 650 Martelt multi-purpose missiles to strengthen the country’s air defense. Since February 2022, since the start of the Ukraine war, London has provided a total of £7.6 billion in military aid to Kyiv.
Earlier, “David Lemmy”, British Foreign Minister, said that following the increase of requests from Kiev to use long-range missiles against Russia, the West listens “carefully” to the needs of Ukraine.
Lemmy, who traveled to Kyiv with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, told reporters that they are going to “listen to Ukraine” and “talk to Zelensky and understand his strategy.”
Asked if Britain would allow Ukraine to use long-range missiles against targets in Russia, Lemmy said: “We are here to listen, to understand the plan, to understand the strategy and to understand the needs on all fronts.”
The British Foreign Minister further stated that ammunition, armored vehicles and more support will be provided to Ukraine in order to win the war.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly pressed the West for permission to use their missiles to target points inside Russian territory.
