Andriy Sibiga became the new foreign minister of Ukraine
Today (Thursday), following the resignation of Dmytro Kulba, the Ukrainian Parliament approved Andriy Sibiga as the new Foreign Minister of Ukraine on the recommendation of Zelensky.
According to RCO News Agency, “Andrey Sibiga” is a professional diplomat who served as Ukraine’s ambassador to Turkey in 2016-2019. He joined the government in 2021 as the deputy of the office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and was transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in April of this year and was the deputy of Dmytro Kolba.
The resignation of Kolba, who held the senior position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine since 2020, was approved by the parliament earlier today. A source close to the presidential office told the Independent Kyiv newspaper that Kolba was asked to leave the government. Apparently, internal disputes and his action in direct contact with America were the reason for this decision.
The change comes amid a wider reshuffle of Ukraine’s government, which has seen many ministers and deputy prime ministers leave and reshuffle their posts.
Zelensky said earlier about the new changes and developments: “We need new energy today and these steps (reorganization) are only related to strengthening our government. International politics and diplomacy are no exception to this rule. I cannot predict today what exactly some ministers will do. “The answers come when they are offered certain situations.”
