Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine: delay in receiving air defense means death
In an interview with CNN, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine demanded to receive more air defenses as soon as possible and said: “Any delay in receiving them means death.”
According to Isna, “Dmitry Kolba”, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, in a recent interview with “Kristin Amanpour”, a prominent CNN reporter, which was published on Tuesday evening, discussed many issues such as intensified Russian airstrikes and Kiev’s need to receive more aid from NATO paid.
In a part of his statement, he demanded that Ukraine’s allies receive air defenses as soon as possible, stating that “a delay in receiving air defenses means death.”
Kolba also pointed to the recent Russian air attack and claimed that this country attacked medical facilities with ballistic missiles and said: “The lesson that everyone should Learn from this incident is that the sending of air defenses to Ukraine should be accelerated.”
According to CNN, this facility is used to train military forces and is considered a military objective.
Of course, in response to Amanpour’s question about the success rate of air defenses against such an attack, he said: “Even if you have air defenses, it is difficult to shoot down ballistic missiles, and the only way to deal with it is to have Patriot defenses.”
MIM-104 Patriot is a missile air defense system capable of countering tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and enemy aircraft in all weather conditions and at any altitude. The key features of the Patriot system are the multi-role composite radar, tracking guidance through the missile and modern software, as well as extensive automatic operation. Patriot is an anti-ballistic missile of the US Army and its main mission is to defend against ballistic missiles.
Despite the advanced nature of this system and Kolba’s claims, recently, Russia announced the downing of 3 Patriot systems in Ukraine.
Nevertheless, Kulba continued: “I don’t know how many similar tragedies will have to happen before others (Ukraine’s allies) fulfill their commitments and promises.”
The foreign minister of Ukraine said: “Winter is coming and Putin is a skilled strategist, Russian airstrikes will definitely intensify, and Ukraine is fulfilling its promises, and our request is that our allies fulfill their promises.”
Restrictions on the use of weapons against Russia are likely to be lifted
In another part of his interview, Kolba mentioned the restrictions imposed by the West, especially the United States, regarding the non-use of Western weapons against Russian soil and said: “We are in the last steps to remove these restrictions. Ukraine’s ability to attack Russia depends on the limitations of the US, UK, France and our other allies. “They should remove these restrictions and provide us with the necessary weapons.”
He added: “The argument of preventing tension is a failed argument and an excuse for not doing anything.”
America and other allies of Ukraine under the pretext of preventing “escalation of tensions” and a full-scale war between NATO and Russia, despite providing extensive weapons to Ukraine and equipping the “Ukrainian war machine” against Russia, which according to Moscow, is NATO’s proxy war against Russia have imposed restrictions on the use of these weapons for direct attack on Russia.
But recently, NATO member countries close to Ukraine are changing their approach and expressing their approval for the use of western weapons by Ukraine against Russia.
In this regard, Kolba pointed to the recent statements of his Polish counterpart that “Poland and other NATO countries have a duty to shoot down Russian drones and missiles” and said: “We are talking with Poland, they feel the danger of Russia.” . But Warsaw alone cannot decide to confront Russia, their air defense is NATO’s integrated air defense and this alliance must make a unified decision. The destruction of the Russian missile does not mean the killing of Russian soldiers, and these missiles must be shot down by NATO.”
He further mentioned Ukraine’s surprise attack on Kursk and defended it, saying: “In war, life must be made more difficult for the enemy, and in the spring, everyone was talking about Russia’s steady advance and Ukraine’s defensive position, and we attacked “We defeated Kursk, the Russian army in this area and the arguments of our allies about the Russian advance.”
However, Kolba’s statements contradict the facts on the ground. While he talks about “the defeat of the Russian army in Kursk and the failure of the allies’ argument that Russia is advancing”, according to media sources, the Russian army not only forced the Ukrainian forces to retreat in this region, but also launched an operation in the Donbass. and according to the report of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, it will control more towns and areas through this operation. As the Russian forces have made significant progress in the last few days, they are approaching the important city of Pokrovsk, as well as Ukrainian units. have been forced to withdraw from their positions.
Nevertheless, Kolba said, “the Russian people saw that Putin is more adept at seizing other people’s land than defending his own, and that’s an important message to the Russian people, and they’re talking about Russia’s defeat against Ukraine.”
Referring to Russia’s advance towards the important and strategic city of Pokrovsk, the CNN reporter also pointed out the anger of Ukrainians against their government and the possibility of exchanging captured lands with each other.
In response to Amanpour’s statement, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said: “We do not believe in the exchange of land, people or any other exchange, and the purpose of the attack on Kursk was to make life more difficult for the Russians,” but he continued to contradict his words and said: “We We have taken a lot of prisoners of war.” This allows us to exchange our soldiers with these prisoners. Of course, we still do not believe in the exchange of land, the exchange of captured land means offering something to Ukraine to take back its right, and we will not do that.”
He went on to show Ukraine’s defeat in Pokrovsk, which, according to the Western media, means a humiliating defeat for Ukraine and said: “If we had not attacked Kursk, many would have said that you lost Pokrovsk without any action. We did something, our commanders from They are better qualified to talk about field conditions.”
In response to a question about inviting Ukraine to join NATO and not being invited to previous NATO meetings, Kolba said: “Until the next NATO meeting in the Netherlands, which will be held in 2025, Ukraine will be invited, and even today He invited Ukraine. This invitation does not mean Ukraine’s membership in NATO, but it is a sign of the beginning of the process of membership in this alliance. “We are not NATO, but we want to be invited to join this alliance.”
