Burrell called for sanctions against Netanyahu’s cabinet ministers
The European Union foreign policy official said: We are following up on the statements of the extremist Israeli ministers regarding the construction of a synagogue in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
According to RCO News Agency, “Joseph Burrell”, the EU foreign policy official, said: “Six months ago, we were talking about the day after the war in Gaza, and today we are talking about a partial ceasefire in this strip, which is not being implemented.”
Burrell stressed that the European Union will hold a high-level meeting on the situation in the Middle East.
He said: More than 85% of the residents of Gaza are facing the risk of displacement and the situation there is very terrible and rescuers are being killed by the Israelis.
Burrell pointed out that the activities of the United Nations in the Gaza Strip have been suspended and the amount of humanitarian aid received in this strip in July was the lowest amount since the beginning of the war.
He said that he suggested to the member states of the European Union to expand the list of sanctions to include Israeli ministers, but there is no consensus on this matter.
Josep Burrell said: “We will submit recommendations to the European Council committees to review the proposed sanctions against Israeli ministers.”
The official of the European Union’s foreign policy stated: The escalation of violence in the West Bank shows the unwillingness to end the war and the existence of conflict and strife in the Zionist society.
Burrell emphasized that the situation in the West Bank is getting worse every day and there are those who are fueling the fire with racist statements.
