American official: Russia has removed 90% of its fighters from the range of Atcoms missiles
Citing a new intelligence assessment of the country, an American official said that since Ukraine received Atcoms long-range missiles, Russia has moved 90 percent of its fighters and planes to military bases that are out of range of these missiles and thus their firing. It will have an “insignificant impact” on Russian territory.
According to Isna, while the United States has increased the production of Atcoms long-range missiles, the inventory of this type of weapon is limited and the Pentagon only has a limited number to send to Ukraine.
The “Wall Street Journal” newspaper quoted an American official as saying: “Despite Ukraine’s increasing requests to lift restrictions on the use of Atcoms missiles to attack Russian territory, the administration of US President Joe Biden has no plans to change its position.”
Referring to the new intelligence assessments of his country, this American official added: “Since Ukraine received these American long-range missiles, Russia has transferred 90% of its aircraft to military bases that are out of range of At-Coms, and this means launching these missiles into “The Russian soil will have a small impact.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday reiterated his request regarding the lifting of restrictions on the use of Western weapons; A request that the United States and its allies have not yet agreed to due to the fear of direct confrontation with Russia and the escalation of tensions.
“Patrick Ryder”, the spokesman of the Pentagon, stated in this regard: “Our policy has not changed. “Ukraine is allowed to use American weapons to defend against border attacks, but it cannot carry out attacks deep into Russian territory.”
