According to Hindustan Times; IndiGo flight 6E3074, scheduled to depart at 9:15 am (local time) from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata to Shillong in the state of Meghalaya, was diverted to Bay Isola after a threatening note was discovered.
According to reports, the flight crew found a note in the lavatory of the plane when the passengers boarded, which claimed that a bomb had been planted inside the plane. Immediately after discovering this note, the passengers got off the plane and the process of security checks began.
“Indigo flight 6E3074, which was scheduled to depart from Kolkata to Shillong at 9:15 am, was diverted to the isolation area after the discovery of the threatening note,” the airport manager announced. During the boarding of the passengers, the crew found a note in the lavatory of the plane indicating the presence of a bomb. “The passengers were immediately evacuated and the investigation process is underway.”
At the same time, the spokesperson of Indigo Company also confirmed this issue and announced that the relevant authorities have been informed immediately and they are fully cooperating with them. He said: A security threat was observed in flight 6E7304 from Kolkata to Shillong. In accordance with standard operating instructions, we immediately reported the matter to the relevant authorities and are fully cooperating with the necessary investigations.
